A New Cover for my First Ever Self Published Book

Some of you may remember that I self published my first fiction book on Amazon Kindle in 2017. It was titled Just me, the Sink & the Pot. It also had a terrible cover. I changed the cover twice after that but something was nagging at the back of my mind. So here is my new cover for the book, which was later renamed Can a Fat Girl Get a First Kiss? Yes, I needed to have my overweight/plus size protagonist on the cover. Pamela, whose story is based on my own experiences with fat shaming and body image issues since my childhood, deserved to be seen.

Writing this book was a cathartic experience. I still suffer from body image issues. I still hate that our society boasts of thin/slim privilege. It still breaks my heart when I hear everyone from little girls to grown, independent women, hating themselves because they don’t look a certain way. School children can be brutal with body shaming behaviour and language. Adults are no better. I wish that schools and parents would discourage this harmful behaviour. Sigh.

Well, I hope you like the new cover.
