A Month of Loss & A Request for Support

I apologise for my silence here. God/Fate has put my family through a horrible one month of loss. Plus, there were health issues making me unproductive and unhappy until a hundred medical tests were done and thousands of rupees were spent. So my last post, was a poem on grief, dedicated to my aunt who was also my mother’s best friend and a big part of my life. Yes, she was ‘old enough’ to die but when you love someone, no amount of time on earth is enough. A day or two after we lost her, our family dog was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure. Again, she was not young, but that doesn’t make it any easier to watch a beloved pet sink in front of your eyes. Exactly three weeks after my mashi (maternal aunt) passed, we lost our Gulti. So we didn’t really get time to mourn for my aunt. Oh, then Gulti’s elderly mother disappeared during her daily stroll outside.

My heart feels like it was beaten up. Mercilessly. Repeatedly.

Writing has taken a backseat while I try to be there for my mother and process all the changes in our life. In fact, my bad health kept me away from my Kindle device for a long time. Reading books seemed impossible until a few days ago.

Last month, I released a short story – a family drama – on Amazon Kindle and have no work-in-progress to speak of. But I do wish to ask all of you for your support as I try to get back into my regular routine.

Please leave a review if you enjoy reading any of my books or short stories. Even one line helps.
