A Big Girl

Was she supposed to dislike herself every day? The other girls at school acted like she was the ugliest person they’d ever seen. “You’d be a good catch if you weren’t so fat,” one said. And then another one thought that she was too big. “Are girls supposed to be small, Mom?” She asked finally one day. Her mother told her that everyone looks different and likes different things. The chubby kitty woke up and yawned, settling into her lap. If her lap had been small, he couldn’t have fit!
