Happiness delivered

She knew her day would be bad. First the bad news from home, and then the lost house keys. Things hadn’t been this bad in a long time. Life had seemed perfect – or at least, somewhat perfect. Her first nice boyfriend in a long time. A not-so-bad job after ages. She knew it was all too good to be true. Drenched in rain, she reached the office in a foul mood – ready to yell at the slightest provocation from her colleagues. Just thirty minutes into the day, an envelope arrived via the courier. It had a big smiley drawn on it. She couldn’t stop herself from smiling.
